Back in the saddle…

Last summer I began to notice that my bike saddle was becoming… well… highly uncomfortable, let’s just put it that way. I stuck with it for as long as I could bear, but the time had finally come to head to my local bike shop and upgrade my seat.

And so I did.

I opted for Bontrager’s Nebula Plus, a women’s specific design saddle that’s made for road cyclists interested in more comfort than is typically available in a racing saddle. So far I’m happy with it — it is most definitely an improvement from the state of my old saddle!

I don’t know if women are threatened by the same degree of damage that men are by prolonged riding on sleek, skinny bike seats, but it’s almost enough to encourage me to get a big, fat, 2-pound cushy seat. Almost. It’s also almost enough to make me want to get a recumbent. But the first would look silly, and the second seems too low-profile for the scary drivers we have around here. And I’m all about looking good and being alive.
Your new seat looks fly, by the way.
